Теперь чат-бот умеет переводить тексты на 24 языка, анализировать и сокращать научные статьи, а его результаты письменного экзамена выросли на 27% по сравнению с предыдущей версией нейросети. Модель Midjourney научилась создавать более детализированные иллюстрации, точнее распознавать запросы. Разработчики также увеличили максимальное разрешение изображений до 1024 пикселей.
Снова в топе обсуждения оказалась нейросеть. Российский оператор мобильной связи Tele2 заключил в исследовании, что в первые два месяца 2023 года число пользователей алгоритмами увеличилось в пять раз и еще больше – после их обновления. Не все реагируют на нейросети положительно. В январе запретили пользоваться ChatGPT в школах Нью-Йорка – департамент образования США опасался появления мошенничества и плагиатов работ среди студентов. Страх появился и у людей с творческой специальностью – уже были проведены эксперименты, когда искусственный интеллект научился создавать художественные рассказы, рисовать картины и даже писать университетские дипломы. По данным TIDIO около 65% подозревают, что их рабочее место заменят роботы. Но так ли это на самом деле? Если да, то что нас ждет дальше? Разбираемся вместе.
С чего всё началось?
Впервые нейросеть создали в 1958 году и она получила название «Perceptron». В то время для реализации ее потенциала не было ни подходящих специалистов, ни инструментов. Интерес к ней проявился лишь в 2010 – тогда база фотографий Image Net открыла возможности для машинного обучение. Уже в 2019 году на Amazon появился книжный магазин «Booksby.ai», книги которых созданы искусственным интеллектом (далее в тексте – ИИ). К февралю 2023 году новостное агентство «Reuters» зарегистрировало, что при помощи нейросети были написаны более 200 электронных книг. На сайте Amazon даже появился поджанр «написанные алгоритмом ChatGPT». Сейчас возможность написать текст при помощи ИИ не удивляет никого, однако… Как мы к этому пришли?
В 2017 году была написана первая и наиболее известная из работ ИИ – роман «1 the Road». Целью было показать, как нейросеть воспринимает поездки и делится своими впечатлениями о ней с другими. Росс Гудвин, автор книги и разработчик ИИ, установил алгоритм в машину и вместе с ним проехал по маршруту книги «В дороге» Джека Керуака – из Нью-Йорка в Новый Орлеан. Происходило это так: внутри машины находились часы, микрофон и GPS, а на крышу была установлена камера – вместе все они передавали информацию портативной пишущей машине, которая сразу записывала полученные данные. ИИ подписывал изображения и печатал их на бумагу от квитанций длиной в 38 метров.

Сейчас тема ИИ наиболее актуальна во всем мире – если в марте 2022 года популярность запроса в таблице Google Trends составляла не более пяти баллов, то в феврале этого года оно достигло максимума – сотни.
В России такой повышенный интерес можно объяснить тем, что в 2022 году впервые вышла русскоязычная книга в соавторстве с нейросетью – сборник рассказов писателя Павла Пепперштейна «Пытаясь проснуться». Автор решил провести эксперимент: смогут ли его читатели отличить, чей рассказ написал он, а чей – нейросеть? Из 24 рассказов половина принадлежит алгоритму. Выяснилось, что текст, написанный GPT-3 не так уж отличается от стиля писателя. Обложка книги также была создана при помощи нейросети.
Цена книги варьируется от 600 рублей до 2000 тысяч в зависимости от типа обложки и сайта продажи.
А что там по картинкам?
Обложки для книг играют не менее важную роль, чем само содержание. Иллюстрации тоже нельзя игнорировать – зачастую именно из-за красивого оформления люди предпочитают одно издательство другому.
Ради эксперимента в апреле 2022 года на выставке «Nabokov Clip Art» в Петербурге были представлены иллюстрации к произведениям Набокова, которые создал ИИ. Для создания образов в нейросеть загрузили короткие отрывки из книг. Всего вышло 29 иллюстраций, вот одна из них:

У любителей прозы Набокова возникли неоднозначные чувства к картинам. Филолог Федор Двинятин дал комментарий телеканалу «Санкт-Петербург» и сказал, что нейросетям проще воссоздать то, что сложно пишется. В таком случае картины получаются привлекательными и разнообразными. Иначе думает директор музея, Андрей Аствацатуров – по его мнению, изобразить произведения Набокова в принципе нельзя, слишком удивительный текст для нейросети.
Если ранее люди применяли нейросеть только для писательства, то в 2022 году вышел комикс «A Different Aftermath», который был полностью нарисован нейросетью. Его создательница, Урсула Вернон, решила использовать Midjourney чтобы облегчить процесс рисования. По словам автора, она ненавидит рисовать здания и поэтому прибегла к нейросети. На создание комикса ушло около трех месяцев. Он состоит из 15 страниц, в которых рассказывается история возвращения природы в мир после апокалипсиса. В каждой иллюстрации присутствует деятельность Midjourney.
Желание Урсулы сделать людей обезличенными только облегчило работу нейросети так как подобные задачи для алгоритмов считаются их сильной стороной.
Неужели всё так прекрасно?
У всех упомянутых ИИ есть свои минусы хотя авторы о них не сильно распространились. Это и долгие мучения Росса Гудвина с установкой аппаратуры, и не раз переделанные и удаленные тексты из сборника Пепперштейна так как рассказы нейросети выходили то слишком «неживыми», то бессмысленными. «Честно говоря, мне не показалось, что между моими рассказами и рассказами, написанными «Нейро Пепперштейном», есть хоть какое-то сходство», — говорит автор книги «Пытаясь проснуться».
Несмотря на очевидное недовольство работой алгоритмов создатели все равно относятся к нейросетям положительно. Читатели также с одобрением и восторгом реагируют на подобный контент, однако это происходит не всегда.
Один из самых масштабных шквалов критики был на книгу «Alice and sparkle». Автор Аммар Реши анонсировал произведение, которое было написано при помощи двух нейросетей – ChatGPT и Midjourney. Как и другие творения она создана в качестве эксперимента. Однако именно к этому автору вместо похвалы возникли претензии. Почему?
Публикация книги пришлась на период, когда тема ИИ начинала достигать пика популярности – в декабре 2022 года. Слухи про исчезновение профессии художника особенно ярко звучали в обществе в то время и потому новость о публикации книги, которая была написана за выходные и «украла работу у иллюстраторов», вызвала ажиотаж в медиасреде.
У художников агрессия была вызвана отсутствием качественно нарисованных иллюстрацией: в книге часто изменялась внешность персонажей и выглядела она не статично, неуклюже. Тем, кто годами обучался рисованию в образовательных учреждениях читать новости про талантливость нейросетей было неприятно. Более того – людей разозлила цена книги на Amazon – в марте 2023 года она стоит около 700 рублей. Они начали обвинять Реши в попытке быстро заработать деньги, хотя и в описании продукта, и в комментариях автора говорилось, что «Alice and sparkle» – эксперимент.
Нет соперничеству!
Страх потери рабочего места из-за быстроразвивающихся технологий прокрадывался у каждого человека. Но стоит взглянуть на ситуацию под другим углом и все станет яснее – нейросети не способны развиваться без людей, а их работа хотя и может быть быстрее, но вовсе не качественнее. Человеческие возможности всегда будут ценнее тех, чьи созданы искусственно. Статья на Хабр «Почему нейросеть DALL-E не отнимет мою работу иллюстратором» Тимура Попова доносит тот же смысл: каким бы умелым ни был алгоритм, только человек способен создать объект, который вызовет положительный эмоциональный отклик у общества.
«Люди больше интересуются человеческими способностями, даже если они не идут ни в какое сравнение с машиной или животными. Почти никто не смотрит шахматные матчи между компьютерами, это скучно» – пишет автор статьи.
Издательства могут использовать алгоритмы только для облегчения деятельности редакторов и иллюстраторов, а не замены работника. Смысл разработки технологий заключается в упрощении жизни людей, а не наоборот их усложнении. Поэтому на появление у творцов «нейронного помощника» следует реагировать позитивно – это означает, что скорость их работы улучшится, а материалы станут интереснее, так как человек будет больше времени тратить на его содержание нежели на процесс.
