Согласно отчету «Всемирного экономического форума о будущем рабочих мест», эмоциональный интеллект стал одним из 10 основных профессиональных навыков в 2020 году.       

Что такое эмоциональный интеллект и почему о нем все говорят? Зачем он нужен в нашей жизни и в каких ее сферах? Как определить свой уровень ЭИ и какие техники для его развития существуют?

Что такое Эмоциональный интеллект

Эмоциональный интеллект – это сумма навыков и способностей человека, благодаря которым он может лучше понимать свои чувства и чувства окружающих, намерения, мотивации и желания.  С помощью ЭИ возможно взять контроль над своими эмоциями в стрессовых ситуациях, а также управлять эмоциями других людей для решения практических задач.

Понятие ЭИ появилось в результате того, что традиционные тесты на интеллект не способны предсказать успешность человека ни в карьере, ни в жизни. Они не включают в себя оценку таких способностей, как взаимодействие с людьми, посредством выстраивания эмоциональных связей, и управление своими собственными эмоциями. «TalentSmart» проверила эмоциональный интеллект вместе с 33 другими важными навыками на рабочем месте и обнаружила, что ЭИ является самым сильным показателем производительности, объясняя 58% успеха во всех типах работы. Согласно опросу «Levo Institute», 80% сотрудников считают, что эмоциональный интеллект имеет решающее значение для развития своей карьеры.

В повседневной жизни эмоциональный интеллект не просто ее часть, на нем строятся все хорошие и доверительные взаимоотношения. ЭИ помогает улучшить отношения с семьей, друзьями, понять переживания людей, проявить сострадание и поддержать их в нужный момент. Также помогает уменьшить тревожность, избегать и разрешать конфликты.  В стрессовых ситуациях помогает быстро сделать выводы о том, что происходит, чтобы предпринять необходимые действия для изменения своего поведения.

На рабочем месте эмоциональный интеллект влияет не только на взаимоотношения, но и на продуктивность. Он помогает выстраивать доверительные отношения с коллегами, понимать желания и намерения как коллег, так и клиентов, решать конфликты, справляться со стрессом и давлением на работе. Исследование Центра Креативного Лидерства показало, что одной из главных причин провалов топ-менеджеров является недостаток эмоциональной компетентности. Три основные причины: неспособность работать в стрессовой ситуации, работать в команде и грамотно выстраивать межличностные отношения.

Так же ЭИ способствует эффективной работе, проявлению лидерских способностей, оказыванию положительного влияния на подчиненных и их мотивированию, так же позволяет эффективно управлять собой и другими во время переговоров. По данным «Brighton School of Business and Management», эмоциональные навыки на работе в два раза важнее профессиональных навыков. 44% опрошенных сотрудников считают именно этот показатель отличительной чертой эффективных лидеров.

Как определить уровень ЭИ

Чтобы определить свой уровень эмоционального интеллекта, в первую очередь нужно проанализировать свое поведение. О низком эмоциональном интеллекте может говорить следующее:

  • постоянно обижаетесь и не умеете прощать других;
  • часто думаете, что вас не так поняли;
  • не можете справиться со стрессом;
  • не понимаете, что чувствуете и почему;
  • критикуете других и безрезультатно спорите;
  • боитесь перемен и долго адаптируетесь к новому.

Техники для развития ЭИ

Развить свой эмоциональный интеллект может каждый путем несложных техник и их регулярного использования. Приведем некоторые техники, описанные в книге «Сила эмоционального интеллекта» Адель Линн:

  1. Ведение дневника. Регулярно записывайте все, что чувствуете в течение дня, это поможет прояснить многое в поведении, четче разглядеть собственные намерения и лучше узнать себя.
  2. Наставничество. Взгляд со стороны раскроет новые грани вашего поведения, поможет разобраться в собственных мыслях. Перед наставником вы чувствуете моральные обязательства и поэтому стремитесь к собственному улучшению.
  3. Друзья. Они любят вас несмотря на ошибки, которые вы совершаете в течение жизни. Вы можете их попросить задавать вопросы о том, что вы чувствуете в определенные моменты, каким образом влияете на них. Но для начала вам лучше убедиться, что со своими друзьями вы разделяете те же взгляды, иначе они могут сбивать вас с пути.
  4. Волонтерская деятельность. Таким способом вы сможете развить в себе сострадание, поддержку и осознанность. Увидев, что некоторым людям в жизни повезло меньше, чем вам, в вас пробудится благодарность за то, что имеете.
  5. Хобби. Занимаясь любимым делом, вы погружаетесь в свои размышления. Ученые доказали: занимаясь любимым делом, человек мыслит более трезво.

Эмоциональный интеллект – социальные навыки и способности, помогающие вам дома и на работе. Благодаря им вы строите доверительные отношения, думаете трезво в стрессовых ситуациях, более активны и работоспособны. Смысл ЭИ заключается в умении оглядываться назад и анализировать произошедшее. Когда вы отслеживаете свой прогресс, вы приближаетесь к своей цели – повышению уровня эмоционального интеллекта.
