Вопрос питания всегда был актуален. Человек стремится правильно питаться для поддержания своего здоровья, однако 2019 год не про это. Многие люди, а также известные личности отказываются не только от мяса, но и любых других продуктов животного происхождения. По данным Джессики Скотт-Рид, автора журнала «Maclean`s», рост на веганские заменители мяса во всей стране увеличился на 9,3 %. Есть и модные дома, которые оказываются c этого года от использования меха, осознавая всю неэтичность потребления. Среди них — Jean Paul Gaultier, DKNY, Coach, Gucci.

«Я не ем мясо 4 года, придерживаюсь принципов строгого вегетарианства (постного). В первую очередь, причиной стали проблемы со здоровьем, а уже вторым пунктом — этическая сторона вопроса. Начать было не сложно, я устроила для себя в каком-то роде эксперимент. Просто стало интересно узнать, поможет ли изменение образа жизни привести в равновесие физическое и моральное здоровье. «Эксперимент» дал положительные результаты и вопрос «стоит ли продолжать придерживаться такого питания» отпал сам собой. Я думаю, изменилось многое, начиная от физического здоровья до способности критически мыслить, слышать себя, ставить под сомнение каждое «нужно», как когда-то было с «нужно есть мясо»».

«Уже 8 лет я придерживаюсь классического вегетарианства. Перейти на подобное питание было не сложно: просто перестал есть мясо и рыбу из-за моральных побуждений. Из изменений: стал лучше продумывать рацион, после того, как перешёл на вегетарианство, появилось желание заниматься спортом, что и стал делать, набрал вес, захотелось доказать, что вегетарианство — клёвая штука».

«Когда я была маленькой, то много времени проводила на природе, моими первыми и лучшими друзьями были животные. Мне всегда было жалко их, я набирала воду в ванной и отпускала туда рыбу, принесенную мамой с рынка, не могла смотреть, как она медленно задыхается в раковине, прятала раков от кипящего ада в кастрюле, на улице переносила жучков и гусениц подальше с тротуаров и дорог, чтобы их не раздавили. Деньги, которые мы находили с подружкой на улице случайно, мы тратили не на мороженное или конфеты, а на булочки для бездомных животных. Однако детство проходит и взрослые, к сожалению, учат детей смиряться с положением вещей — так надо…
Мне было 24, когда я решилась поехать в Китай на полгода, по контракту, работать моделью. Эта поездка меня сильно изменила. Мне приснился сон, как диафильм, если кто помнит ещё что это такое. В этом сне было два цыплёнка: один был злой и страшный, он ел куриные наггетсы из Макдака; второй был добрый и красивый, он ел зернышки и травку. На утро я проснулась с четким пониманием, что мясо есть плохо и для тела и для души, хотя толком об этом ничего не знала. Это трудно объяснить, как будто в меня заложили программу, я просто не могла как раньше и всё. С того момента я не притронулась к мясу ни разу до 29 лет.
В 29 лет у меня был второй сильный кризис в жизни. Мне пришлось признать — то, что я строила, никуда не годилось. Я вышла из отношений, делавших меня несчастной, осознала свою несостоятельность в профессиональной деятельности, без средств к существованию и с тремя котами и двумя большими собаками, одна из которых носила шестерых щенков в животе, я шагнула в неизвестность. Тогда моей основной заботой было заработать достаточно, чтобы мне хватило денег на еду животным и оплатить коммунальные услуги за дом. На еду себе мне не особо хватало, я ела у друзей, у родителей, и да, я ела всё, что дадут, покупала высококалорийную еду, типа батончиков и дешевого мяса. Я стремилась быть как все, ни о чём не думать, жить одним днём — это так приятно и легко. И да, быть веганом — это не просто, ты постоянно сталкиваешься с тем, что все родственники считают тебя ненормальной, любой твой чих — это «потому что мясо не ешь». Из многочисленных заведений тебе почти некуда пойти, ты не можешь поддержать своих друзей в жарке шашлыков на природе, ты априори выделяешься из всех, а это не всегда комфортно. Постепенно моя жизнь наладилась, но было какое-то ощущение внутри, которое приносило дискомфорт.
Мне 31 год, я не ем мясо — не могу. Я не могу убивать и не могу смириться с «так надо» и «так все живут». Я проделала долгий и сложный путь, но я вернулась к той девочке из детства. Мне не стыдно смотреть ей в глаза, ведь теперь я стараюсь жить так, как подсказывает мне сердце и относиться к братьям нашим меньшим так, как должно относиться к братьям».
Опыт опрашиваемых заинтересовал меня, и я поставила перед собой цель: 10 дней не есть мясо. Эксперимент начался 11 июня. К переменам я подошла ответственно, для начала нужно было определиться с типом вегетарианства. Я понимала, что резкая смена питания может обернуться стрессом для организма, поэтому мой выбор пал на пескетарианство – система питания, допускающая употребление рыбы и морепродуктов. Врачи же советуют, в случае, если человеку подходит растительное питание, подумать о белках, жирах и медленных углеводах, витаминах, минералах и клетчатке, ведь без этих компонентов здоровье значительно ухудшится. Я составила рацион, стала много читать, чтобы хотя бы немного разбираться в теме и решила посмотреть фильм «Земляне» по неоднократным советам знакомых. Важно было понять, зачем я это делаю, а не просто подхватить тренд.
Стоит отметить, что это не просто очередная прихоть человечества. Скотт-Рид также отмечает, что животноводство пагубно влияет на окружающую среду. Это один из ведущих факторов, который влияет на изменение климата. В докладах Межправительственной группы экспертов было заявлено, что у нас осталось всего 12 лет, чтобы сократить глобальные выбросы на 45% и в связи с этим предотвратить глобальное потепление на 1,5 градусов по Цельсию.
Дело в том, что процесс выращивания животных для молока и мяса приводит к большому выбросу парниковых газов, чем все вместе взятые виды транспорта, а это около 15 % от всех выбросов! Более того, из отчётов EPA (Агентство по охране окружающей среды США) выяснилось, что животноводство является основной причиной загрязнения пресной воды, вырубки лесов, разрушения океанских биосистем, а также вымирания дикой природы и биоразнообразия. Из 98 крупных контролируемых американских скотобоен — ¾ сбрасывали токсичные отходы в ближайшие водоёмы, нарушая запреты загрязнения водоёмов. Ещё Скотт-Рид добавила: «Выращивание животных для производства еды также потребляет огромное количество ограниченных земных ресурсов. Для производства одного килограмма говядины требуется примерно семь килограммов зерна и более 15 000 литров воды – согласитесь, это ужасающие цифры и это говорит о неэффективном использовании ресурсов перед лицом растущего населения мира».
Поэтому рост числа людей, которые переходят на органическое питание, не может не радовать, ведь это хорошая новость и для окружающей среды, и для миллиардов животных, ежесекундно подвергающимся жестоким пыткам. Неверно думать, что если вегетарианец не купит куриную грудку, то её купит кто-то другой. Спрос падает, организация получает меньше финансов, а производство сокращается. Только задумайтесь, ведь всё и правда зависит от нас. Стоят ли их страдания нашей красоты и сытого брюха?
